Of Winter Tales & Missed Concerts

My first winter here in Europe is has been as picturesque and exciting as I dreamed it’d be! However, if I’m being totally honest, it’s been bittersweet. Cuz’ no matter what, I miss home. Especially now that the days are shorter and the skies are greyer. I think of my family, my friends, of lavish Indian meals and end up going through my friend’s Instagram stories whenever there is the slightest pang of melancholy. I miss my gang and our revelries back in India, most of which were centered around good food and great music! Luckily for me, my friends are equal enthusiasts about music festivals and we love attending one whenever we can. (Coldplay with my girls was absolutely unforgettable!!)

Which is why I was so bummed out about missing the experience of going for Ed Sheeran with them. And Hardwell. Although mostly Ed Sheeran. I cannot begin to count the number of I miss you messages that were shared that day! I know what you’re thinking, “Masoom, you’re in Belgium. And you travel the world! You can go for concerts all over Europe now!” Amen.

But you see, for me, the concert experience is a lot more special in India, for a whole bunch of reasons! The international live performances scene is just picking up there. Maybe it’s because of how long the Indian audience has been deprived of these experiences or just the cultural diversity present or the fact that I’m getting to experience it alongside my main folks, but the bottom line is that the experience is always exceptional! Also the fact that for majority of the artists, it’s their first time performing in India and I’ve noticed that they always try doing something special or unusual in their concert. From medleys tailored especially for Indian fans to mixing their all-time hits with our iconic Indian songs or a display of extravagant fireworks, the shows are always spectacular on energy!

Which is why I found myself doing a happy dance of sorts when I discovered STREO!

It’s an App that lets you live stream music from not only concerts and gigs but also from nightclubs, bars and festivals Pan India, in real time, from wherever you are! So now, the next time there is a concert, you can simply e – attend it with your pals! Plus it’s got so many other insane features that’ll come in handy –

  1. Streo’s got a filter to shortlist gigs city wise – so finding the stream feed of any event PAN India is doable!
  2. You can also hunt for gig’s based on Genre which means you save time and cut the chase!
  3. It not only lets you stream past gigs (that you can relieve as many times as you want!) it also lets you attend present live events and list the upcoming one’s you want to make sure you don’t miss.
  4. It’s got venue profiles, artist profiles and you’ll get notifications on everything you DECIDE you want to keep a track of!
  5. Plus, you avoid the feeling of missing out on another opportunity to make amazing memories with your loved ones.

The best part for me is that you get to relive the music experiences that you liked, that meant something to you – over and over again! After all, we’re all going to talk about the Channa Mereya Coldplay rendition when we’re 60, the way our parent’s reminisce about Michael Jackson’s Mumbai Moonwalk! Now, we can actually hear it again when we talk about it!

Download the app here (insert link https://goo.gl/jshKUg ) to never miss the chance of enjoying the universal language of love and the energy of the Live music gigs that you’re bound to talk about for years to come!

Side Note – Try and resist yourself from getting into the vibe too much! You don’t want to end up singing along at the top of your lungs with your squad while you’re on your cosy Eurostar train seat, travelling. And that is all that I am going to say! I’m not acknowledging or denying anything. Haha!
