It doesn’t take a genius to know that with every weather and season change, your skincare regime has got to go through alterations too. Our skin reacts differently to different conditions and it’s kind of in our hands how we decide to take care of it. Without making this too technical, I want to share my winter skincare essentials with you. I’m an absolute WINTER NEWBIE so firstly, these products have done wonders for me and secondly, I’m more than happy to hear your suggestions cause God knows I need it!
Foreo Luna Mini 2: The one MAJOR change I feel in my skin as soon as the temperatures start dropping is it feels unloved and I turn that around with dedicated use of my #LunaMINI2 every night before bed. The sonic cleansing technology basically lifts all the impurities from your pores and leaves your skin squeaky clean and super supple.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Blooming Lip Balm: Absolutely addicted to this. My number one at the moment when it comes to keeping my lips moisturised and smelling and feeling great without any color residue.
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion: This was recommended to me by my dermatologist when my skin started flaking around my stomach areas and thighs due to being excessively opposed to heaters & duh, dry skin. Two words. It works.
Jo Malone Grapefruit Body & Hand Lotion: Winter is snuggle time and you defs want to be smelling good for snuggle time, am I right?! This lotion smells HEAVENLY and feels sooo good on the skin. Try it and you won’t regret it.
Laniege Overnight & Lip Mask: It’s just unfortunate that these two babies are not recommended to be used every night, or I LITERALLY WOULD. It’s a known fact that it’s coldest at night and early morning, and that’s precisely when the heaters in your home suck all the moisture out of that pretty little face. I love to lather my skin and lips with these two masks and work their magic through the night. I wake up with supple, moisturized & 100% winter-ignorant skin
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Tonic: This is the first toner I’ve ever used (just started a few months ago, #Guilty) and I’m sticking by it for now. I never understood the importance of this step in my skincare routine until very recently. Coming to why you need to use it for winter – it not only provides an extra layer of hydration for thirsty skin but also allows it to drink in even more moisture when applied before serum and moisturiser. Basically, using a toner before your moisturiser doubles or triples the impact any product can make to better your skin (be it moisturising or otherwise).
The Face Shop Fresh Lotus Soothing Gel: This is a heaven-sent product for sensitive skin. Its super soothing and works wonders for areas that might seem irritated due to common winter problems aka scarf rashes, beanie rashes (I get these a lot on my forehead), flakiness etc. I apply a handsome amount and massage into my skin. It’s kinda sticky so I remove the excess after 20minutes or so!
Estée Lauder Take The Day Off Balm: Some of you might not agree with me on this for the rest of the year, but in the winter, oil based products are legit candy for your skin. This soft, oily balm nourishes your skin and gets all the makeup/dirt off the day without stripping it dry.
