FIJI Travel Diary & why this tropical oasis NEEDS to be on your bucket list!

I’m really glad we decided to visit Fiji for our honeymoon because I’m not so sure if I’d have the excitement to tread through this almost 48 hour journey once again. We flew from Bombay to Hong Kong to Auckland and finally to the capital of Fiji, Nadi. We stayed for one night at the Sofitel in Nadi since we had a flight the next morning to Namale resort in Savusavu.

I got off our miniature plane to be welcomed by a warm, tropical wind, a skyline of coconut trees and a sort of large shed with some seating that was fondly referred to as the ‘airport’.

We arrived at our resort, Namale, with a swarm of staff members performing a welcome jingle for us with the brightest smiles and loudest claps I had seen in the last 48 hours. From that moment to the time we checked out, we were literally, in tropical paradise.

We were checked into our ‘Honeymoon Bure’ which was pretty much a lovers pad with nothing less than extraordinary finesse. A massive suite with an infinity pool, separated dining area overlooking the ocean, terrace level cabanas above the bedroom to unwind, outdoor showers, and an incredible jacuzzi tucked into our sprawling bathroom, were just some of the enticing elements.

My favourite part of it all, was being pampered by the most incredible humans I had ever come across. No exaggerations – but the service was impeccable, with an unbelievable ratio of 3:1 for staff to guest. Since it’s an all inclusive resort, all the meals were pre set, but because Shailin & I were vegetarian, they had kept a private chef to design meals solely for us. In fact, our favourite cuisines and specific vegetables were taken note of and prepared for us.
I mentioned my love for coconut water on my first day there and they said they didn’t have any in the resort. The very next day, I had coconut water knocking on my door every two hours. It was unbelievable!

I’ve spoken about the tons of activities we did during our stay at Namale, Fiji, on Instagram, but I’ll quickly jot them down here. Apart from these, we spent our time simply exploring the beaches and the resort itself, only to stumble upon extraordinary moments of natural beauty repeatedly.
– Snorkelling {Unreal viewings of neon corals & fish}
– Horse riding on Fiji’s beautiful beaches
– Mini-golf
– A hot-stone massage followed by hours of hydroptherapy at the Namale Spa
– Private (surprise) lunch by a natural waterfall followed by a swim inside the waterfall
– Private high-tea at a heart-shaped jacuzzi overlooking oceanic geysers
– Water skiing
– Kayaking
– Tour of the Maori Village
– Dinner & dancing with the enthusiastic locals

Hope you enjoy my photo-story from destination 1 of our honeymoon! It was a dream visiting this tropical oasis situated in the middle of the Southeast Pacific Ocean but more so- being hosted by the happiest, most humble people I have met in my life, always rendering their wide smiles and the ubiquitous BULA!!!

Can’t wait to be back!

Didn’t you feel the lack of privacy with the photographer being around you, snapping all your precious moments that you were supposed to spend alone with your husband? I mean it’s your first honeymoon!
