London: my home away from home. Last week, I spent time in this bustling city going from meeting to meeting with different brands to plan lots of exciting collaborations! Although my focus was business and getting my hustle on, I was invited to stay at the Royal Lancaster London and it was an offer I couldn’t refuse. After a long day of work, each night here let me live out my princess fantasies!
Although the Royal Lancaster London has been around since 1967, a recent renovation has transformed the space into a modern-day palace. A dramatic, 8-meter high gold exterior is followed by an even bigger lobby. A sweeping white marble staircase in the reception tops it all off. Guestrooms were not spared in this transformation and all 411 rooms and suites in this 18-story marvel were given huge windows with far-reaching view across the city. The windows and views over the city have always been a part of the hotel, the rooms weren’t given the windows as part of the new design.
To unwind from days jam-packed with brand meetings and photo shoots, I wanted to stay somewhere where the room service is quick and delicious, the beds are soft and warm, and the staff is attentive and welcoming.
I got all of this at the Royal Lancaster London and after each busy day, I returned to my room for a pampering session.Using the hotel’s luxe products from The White Company and some of my own favorite hair masks and bubble baths, my room doubled as a relaxing spa. Don’t get me wrong, I love London’s non-stop energy, but I also love peace and quiet. I got just that at the Royal Lancaster!
While I assure you that a stay at the Royal Lancaster London will make you feel like a ruling monarch, I know of a few other places around London that you must visit for a truly regal experience. First up, an exhibition at Kensington Palace called “Diana: Her Fashion Story,” which features dozens of iconic dresses from Princess Diana’s personal collection. Interestingly, Princess Diana and countless other royals including Prince Harry in 2017 frequented the building for events. Whether you’re interested in fashion, history, or both, this exhibit is a must-see. Also, nothing is more royal than high tea and one of my favorites is the Prêt-à-Portea at The Berkeley. Inspired by the world of fashion, this tea features cookies in the shape of Moschino bags and Chanel jackets. And if you’re looking to really step back into history, heading a little bit out of London to Windsor Castle is totally worth it. The castle’s artwork and architecture will transport you back into time and give you lots of insight on the monarchy.
After all this eating and sightseeing, I can’t think of anything better than a luxurious room to rest and relax. That’s why the Royal Lancaster London is perfect. Once you’re done experiencing London like a royal, this hotel will ensure you live like a royal, even if only for a few nights!
