Glamorous with an underlying sense of satisfaction. My ‘moodboard’ for my Sangeet night.
The first element of the outfit that enticed me was the magical hue. An otherwise drab grey, uplifted with intricate bronze hand-work, to give me finally, an insanely alluring color palette. That’s the first collective reaction I received on my outfit. ‘Such an unusual color.’ Woohoo, my unique check-box was ticked.
But evidently, this wasn’t the only check-box this lehenga was planning on over-ruling. It found it’s way into this little crevice in my mind so comfortably, that once I had seen it, I just couldn’t get myself to appreciate another outfit. Its voluminous, oh-so-voluminous skirt with the prettiest tulle edging, made me want to twirl like a dancing doll all night long. The contemporary blouse with a maze-like mesh looked nothing less than a painting of crystals. The dupatta came with a L-shaped bronze embroidery pattern that replicated a garden of mirrored tulips. This was it – I was sold!

As you must have noticed in videos, I brazenly ditched the dupatta while dancing because I just couldn’t be bothered with having any fabric interfere whilst I rendered a performance I had worked so hard on. For the rest of the time, I draped the dupatta around my elbows in a stole-like manner, as opposed to the traditional drape.
Walk with me through the Manish Malhotra store, as I take you through some of my other favorites from their collection and finally, settle on my dream lehenga.
If I could have any outfit in the whole wide world.. I’d still choose you 🙂
