I will never forget the feeling I felt when I first walked into my wedding venue, Dome. I was scarcely involved in the decor for the wedding day and I was quite literally, swept off my feet. There was a vibe pounding through the stadium (or was it just my heart) that made me feel a sense of magic in the mogra-laden jharokas blended with a mix of glistening chandeliers and Chiavari chairs. The grandness of the stadium, spoke volumes to me while Kesariya Balam’s melodic tunes, calmed my jumpy nerves. Looks like my brother had chosen the perfect musicians for my big day.
My wedding planner walked upto me (and my entourage) and took me through the route for my bridal walkway. I was then escorted to one corner of the dome while Shailin partied it up on a truck temporarily converted into a dance floor. My veil felt heavy, my feet felt light. Tons of smiling and ‘BrideChilla’ attempts for my bridesmaids social media accounts. It was good luck to see my groom before he entered the mandap, my grandmom mentioned. My best friends scampered to fish out snapchats of the apparently ‘insane’ baraat taking place a few metres away. My videographer came upto me and asked if I would like to do my interview right now. YES. What better way to release this bottled up nervous energy.
These moments are forever engraved in my heart. I am so grateful to have all of you to share and re-live them with.
Thank you Shailin, for being everything I ever wanted and so much more.
Thank you to our families, for making this day of my life so special, so beautiful, and for filling it with with extraordinary quantums of love.
