Kicking off #MissSFVirtualWedding blogposts with the details of our first wedding party, which I absolutely MISS ALREADY!!!
My Holi outfit was pretty much the last one to get finalised, which gave me the advantage of chalking out a look that would be completely different from the rest. I wanted a flouncy look with oomphs of fabric, while maintaining an overall modern vibe. My outfit was customized for me by Priyanka Modi from AM:PM. I had seen their recently launched couture collection and fell in love with their fresh take on otherwise-exhausted silhouettes. Priyanka recommended their signature wrap-around tie back blouse for me to balance out the ethnic mustard with a more contemporary feel. I decided to play around with the length of the lehenga/skirt to detour from the obvious and add a little spunk. It was Holi after all. Priyanka flew down from Delhi to sit down with me, to ideate what would be my first official wedding outfit ‘reveal’ and with her strong design aesthetic, managed to deliver an outfit that squeezed in all my crazy requests and imaginations. I was initially skeptical of designing an outfit from a designer that didn’t live in the same city as mine but I was totally swayed when my swatches came in the most organized manner there could possibly exist. To begin with, AM:PM couriered my chosen silhouette in a muslin form so I could re-assure myself of the various cuts and flows and only then kickstart embroidery. As you can see, (and I hope you agree), the outfit turned out to be an absolute stunner! I used the dupatta in the beginning and for my photoshoot but left it aside when the party took off. Lucky for me, we only played Holi with organic colors, and literally every ounce of rang is now washed off the outfit.
I also worked with the splendid Bridelan team who were involved in the beauty and accessory styling, to bring the entire look together seamlessly.
Details of my look!
Stay tuned for the next post – I’ll be talking about how & why we decided to have a Holi Party 🙂
