FOX Life’s amazing fashion-based show ‘Style And The City’s’ 3rd season premiers this Saturday, 30th May at 8:30PM and they were sweet enough to share a sneak-peek with me so I could show it to you guys!
How does curling up on your couch and watching India’s leading fashion guns style your favorite celebrities, all the while giving away secret style tips and tricks sound?
I’ve got big plans for the weekend so I might not be in my pyjamas watching this show, but instead I’m going to style my ‘Saturday night look’ just the way they’ll be demonstrating in their first episode. How exciting right? Psst, it’ll almost be like Anaita Shroff Adajania worked her magic wand on me for my girls night out 🙂
From royal vintage style, to power dressing, boho chic, funky hip hop, to glamorous dressing for the Red carpet- these are some of the styles you should expect to watch explored this season.
FOX Life has also sponsored a Giveaway of a Rs 10,000/- worth voucher from Marks & Spencer in celebration of the launch of their 3rd season! Here are the super simple steps to follow to win your shopping spree at M&S :
– Towards the end of the video, Tisca Chopra tells us the 3 things she would never wear (which has been muted : 13:54 precisely) Simply comment on this post telling me what you think those 3 things are! Could be anything from clothing to make-up!
What I’m Wearing : Lace top: Koovs, Jeans: Forever21, Bag: Dolce & Gabbana, Shoes: Bershka, Sunglasses and earrings: Style Fiesta
Super late recap of one of my looks from Lakme Fashion Week Spring Summer ’15.
I almost always plan my looks around one statement element or trend, and this time, evidently, it was these bootcut jeans. While I was buying these jeans, my friends rigorously shook their heads and claimed that this was one trend that they never want to see coming back. Oh well, I love breaking rules and I adored the way the jeans took shape of a second skin to my body, so I dived in for the kill.
I must admit there were quite a few options I could have paired my boot cut jeans with, but I opted for a lace batwing top. It seemed to add an edge to the ensemble in a simple, chic and clean manner – just the way I like i. I completed my look with oversized hoops for a boho vibe.
For my makeup look, I strongly adhere by my Fashion Week regime – opting for long-wear products because I know I’m going to be spending hours at the super sunny terrace area so it’s essential for my makeup to stay firm until I decide to call it a day. Tons of mascara, winged eyeliner and an earthy brown lipstick left me with a powerful yet muted look. The amazing stylists from TIGI Bedhead lightly curled my hair to achieve waves and then twisted it up at the sides to match it to my look.
What I’m Wearing : Marlschuz shoes, American Eagle Dress, Pull & Bear shorts, H&M clutch, Random belt from another dress, Necklace from boutique in Jaipur, Style Fiesta sunglasses and ring & Scarf worn as Turban
I recently discovered Marlschuz, and instantly took to their summer sandals and casual sling-backs – so gorgeous and versatile for this season! You can see how I styled three pairs above in todays look and they all seamlessly blended into my outfit. Their idea is to dwell deep into each shoe-lovers wants and needs through customising shoes according to the buyers choice, style, shape and preference. I especially adored the exceptional lines they curated for designers fashion week showcases like Pia Pauro and Arpita Mehta. Get in touch with them with an image of a shoe you can’t stop thinking about, and they’ll do everything they can to deliver it to your wardrobe.
I’m indulging my inner boho soul with this dreamy, lacey dress and DIY turban (Thank God for scarves). Hope you enjoyed this look as much as I loved styling and shooting for it!
Look 2 : Anouk Disney harem pants, Vintage Marks & Spencer shirt, Dolce & Gabbanna clutch, Zara shoes, Prada sunglasses, Style Fiesta headband & Hublot watch
When Anouk announced its ‘Disney goes Desi’ collection, to be completely honest, I was rather skeptical on how my childhood-favorite Mickey would look printed on an anarkali. I was pleasantly surprised (to say the least) when I received samples from the collection a couple of afternoons ago.
What laid before me were garments with exquisite thought given to detailing, vibrant ideation and my most favourite quotient of all – they looked super fun!
I styled two looks for this collection, pivoting around this kurta and these pallazo pants. I went with an ethnic feel to the first look and a more contemporary, free-style theme to the second look to simply illustrate how versatile I found the pieces to be. That again, is something vividly recognised in the collections eccentric mix of traditional silhouttes and modern styles like anarkalis, kurtas and kaftans teamed with pallazos, crop-tops and jumpsuits.
It’s so exciting to see brands push the usual limits to really deliver something visually and creatively stimulating. Check out the entire collection here and re-live a little bit of your childhood through this journey 🙂
What I’m Wearing : Dorothy Perkins waterfall jacket, Pull&Bear floral tee, Topshop trousers, Jimmy Choo bag, Proenza Schouler shoes & Style Fiesta jewellery
Whats a Style Hero, if you may ask? A fragment, style, or piece that would quintessentially be the ‘Hero’ of your outfit. I was given 10 options to pick my ‘Style Hero’ from the Spring/Summer ’15 collection of Dorothy Perkins and I chose the ‘Soft Throw On’. Why I chose this baby pink waterfall jacket out of the other 10 pieces is pretty simple. It’s easy to wear; I adore the color; and I can already visualise 4 ways to wear it.
If you don’t already know I LOVE PINK. And wearing an all-pink outfit comes quite naturally to me. My friends tell me my style is very collected, put-together and feminine-chic and that vibe is pretty much represented in this look. ‘I can kick your ass if I like, but I don’t think I have the time for it.’
Just splurged on these beautiful shoes last week and have been wearing them with almost every outfit ever since…something about grayscale pumps that tend to last you a long long time. Whats the point of working so hard if a girl can’t buy her own shoes right? 🙂
