GOAN VIBE #SFTraveldiariess

I was in Goa last week to celebrate my dads birthday and I had the most leisurely and relaxing holiday : salty hair, a summer tan and tons of memories! I’ve visited Goa with my friends earlier and those trips have always been about hopping from one party to another, but this time I witnessed a very different perspective of this beachy state : spectacular food, super clean beaches and serene salty waters.

My list of ‘Must-Do’s’ in Goa :
– Greek food at Thalassa for a super romantic, delicious and candlelit meal. Although if you go for dinner, you’ll miss the beautiful day view – gorgeous either ways
– European food at La Plage. It’s on the beach so picture your legs being immersed in the warm sand while you gorge on your scrumptious meal. The risotto was heavenly!
– Italian dinner at Ciao Bella for the freshest ravioli, yummy mushroom penne and their special in-house gelato-biscotti!
– Baba Au Rhum for a laid-back, truly Goan vibe with the best cheeseburgers and pizzas
– Gunpowder for great Kerala food
– Marbella, a stunning beach bar with great music and white cabana’s to curl up in
– Ashwem beach (this is where La Plage is) for a quick ocean-dip. Just a handful of people and very clean! Gopals shack next door has some yum nutella crepes too.
Thats all folks! Now…for a quick photo-diary 🙂

Last week I was at the exclusive preview of the Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s store at Kemps Corner in Mumbai to preview their Spring Summer 2015 collection. The collection was beautiful – as expected, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a rather colorful palette this season along with their signature whites, creams and beiges.
I’m personally so inspired by the designers duo story. For AJSK to have started with just a small boutique and to now being the most coveted couture label in the country, its being an amazing journey to witness.
PS : I’m sensing a major Kaftan comeback this season!

Hair Styling Tips with #BEDHEAD

Fashion week has long passed us but I’m still gathering photos and the likes to share my experience with you’ll. I attended one such super helpful masterclass with TIGI Bedhead at the #LFWApartment where I was guided through their entire collection of products and different styles for different types of hair followed by a personal styling session. TIGI Bed Head gives you the freedom to experiment with your hair and this masterclass was just what a boring-hair person like me needed!
Since my look for the day had a ‘bohemian vibe’, thats what we abided by for my hair as well. We were time-constrained (I had to make it in time for the next show!) so needed to churn-up something quick – which was a good thing because I’m always running second-by-second so I wouldn’t spend more than 15mins on styling my hair on a regular day. One of the Bed Head stylists gave light waves throughout the length of my hair, separated it into a middle parting and pulled two twisties to the back for a fresh, free-spirited zeal.
Today, I’m going to share a couple of the hair styling tips I gathered from the masterclass with celebrity stylist Savio John Periera & can’t wait to put to use :
– Bed Head products are great for styling your hair if you want to avoid using heating tools altogether
– Always apply hair product on the mid-length and tips of your hair, avoid the scalp
– Don’t overuse a hair product or your hair will wind up looking weighed down, use a dollop to the maximum
– Tousled hair is making a huge comeback this summer
– Attempt at embracing and wearing your hair closest to its natural state i.e. if you have curly hair, opt for styles that allow it to look tamed but still maintain a wavy, curled texture rather than straightening it out
– Don’t apply the product directly to your scalp, always run the product through your fingers and then lightly glide it through your hair
Outfit details of this look coming up in the next post x

Fashion week calls for two things – comfort(always) and style thats true to yourself. Since I’m pretty much at home in my spear-like 5-inch stilettos and this outfit embodies two of my most favourite trends right now – Capes and White-on-white, I was all set.
This SVA (by Sonam & Paras Modi) Cape was love at first sight. But for entirely different reasons than the pictures you see below. Originally, it was meant to be zipped up in the front and worn with a churidar but when I got down to styling it to wear at the designers ‘Istanblu’ themed show, I felt like breaking away from the ordinary. And you can see for yourself what came next..

What I’m Wearing : SVA by Sonam & Paras Modi cape, Topshop trousers, Forever21 top, Zara heels, Burberry bag, Style Fiesta Earrings & Sunglasses

What I’m Wearing : H&M Jeans, Vero Moda tee, Dolce & Gabbanna tote, Adidas sneakers, Style Fiesta sunglasses & chain
Finally finally finally giving in to the Sneaker/High Tops trend. I’m probably the last one in the global bloggers bubble to be embracing them but its never really too late to be jumping onto a bandwagon that looks like this.
When the fabbbb-ulous Adidas folks sent over these ‘Superstar Up’ high-tops in white I was super excited and super scared. How was I gonna style them without looking like I just walked out of a work-out?
To save you from the trouble of figuring that out, I spent a couple of hours in front of my wardrobe and evaluated the best outfit-pairings. Here you go :
– Cut-offs paired with a flirty top/tank. White/denim cut-offs would look gorg
– Fluffy skirt & a jacket
– Mini-skirt. Brownie points if its leather
– Cropped trousers & a trench (Only for you non-Mumbai peeps)
– Shift dresses. My favorite!
– Batwing dresses
– Ankle lenght jeans. The way I’ve worn them! Make sure you roll them in even further to show off some skin.
